TORSÅS SOLAR PROJECT

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Landinfra is investigating the possibility of building a solar park just south of Torsås urban area in Torsås municipality. The farm is planned to have an area of up to 37 hectares including three properties; Torsås 9:1, 12:1 and 18:1. If built, the solar farm could have a total installed capacity of around 30 MW and produce fossil-free electricity for about 40 years.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE PROJECT

In the autumn of 2023, Landinfra met with the officials at Torsås Municipality and the County Administrative Board of Kalmar County for consultation. At the turn of the month November-December 2023, Landinfra also invited to a public consultation via advertisement and letter – a consultation that ended on January 5, 2024. Work is currently underway to produce an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and a Consultation Report. The application to the County Administrative Board is planned to be submitted in the second quarter of 2024. Local residents and other stakeholders are responsible for monitoring the announcement of the application when they have the opportunity to comment at the examination stage.
